How long does a vinyl wrap last?

A quality wrap typically lasts 5–7 years, depending on the film brand, installation quality, and how the vehicle is cared for. Vehicles that are garaged, regularly washed, and not exposed to harsh weather can see wraps last toward the upper end of that range.

Can a wrap be removed without damaging my paint?

A vinyl wrap does not damage factory paint. In fact, it can protect the paint underneath from UV rays and minor scratches. However, if your paint was already peeling, oxidized, or had poor aftermarket repairs, removal could pull up loose areas.

Do I need to tell my insurance company about a wrap?

Many insurers will cover wraps under comprehensive coverage (or include them in the vehicle’s replacement value), but you may need to notify them or provide documentation of the cost. This protects your investment if the vehicle is in an accident.

Can I take my wrapped car through an automatic car wash?

It’s recommended to hand wash or use a touchless wash. Brushes in automatic washes can scratch, lift edges, or prematurely wear the film. Use a mild automotive soap, soft microfiber mitt, and avoid high-pressure spray directly on seams or edges.
